I started PSH on June 11th, 2025. I found a game called “Puck” (steam) and started playing it with a friend. As we are both hockey fans we really got into it. In the early days of me learning the controls of the game we would practice, but one thing I noticed when joining public servers that the community hosted, is people were being kicked because people were trying to play privately. The game did let you create servers hosted by them for free but you couldn’t make the servers private unless you paid.

So I decided to fix that.

It started as a simple 1 page form that got absolutely abused… In hindsight, I should have seen that coming. So I decided to put it against a discord login and set some account limits to keep it fair for everyone but still keeping the password option for the servers free.

After that the community around it because quite large to the point we now have over 1,000 users and almost 8,000 servers. This of course… meant I needed more server and the cost of running this became quite expensive to counter this, I opened up a Patreon so people could support the project if they wished and in return we would increase their account limits, more and longer lasting servers, mod support, higher tick rates, etc.

This drastically helped me with the cost of the servers and allowed me to contribute more time to the project. So i created the new home page and an entirely new feature rich dashboard that include a support system, custom billing system for different roles, a Bring Your Own Server option and completely automating node deployment and server creation and updating.

Over my time of running this and building up an amazing support team I have learnt so much about provisioning and load balancing and just general system administration.

I’m so excited to see how far this project can go and I appreciate everyone’s support so much!
